ALCOSAN Leverages Stakeholder Research to Redesign Their Site for Every Audience.
The Challenge:
Replace the Authority's decade old website with a modern and highly accessible responsive design that simplifies editing, prioritizes ease of use for all audiences, and aligns with major communications initiatives.
How We Helped:
A robust user research campaign in the project's Discovery Phase built a foundation for design that made no assumptions. Qualitative feedback from interviews with stakeholders and staff representing a dozen departments was combined with more quantitative analytics to produce guiding documents for design and development. User personas and a needs assessment report identified the top 10 priorities, as well as ALCOSAN's most valuable content, resources, and key audiences. A powerful and user-friendly content management system was selected to allow the Authority's web team to make content updates without editing code. Close collaboration continued through project delivery with the creation of mood boards, wireframes, and a functional prototype. The revitalized site provides simplified navigation, straightforward form submission, greater brand continuity, and a mobile friendly experience that complies with ADA website accessibility standards.
